Pressure washer won’t spray and seems to have oil in water…?

Hi, I just bought a gas powered pressure washer from a garage sale and I reckon I may have made a huge mistake….The engine works fantastic, but I can’t get the water to come out of the nozzle. Blackish water comes trickles out of the wand sometimes though. I took the hose off and blew through it so that works ok.

When I turn the motor off and take off the water hose, it seems to have lots of pressure in that area but not so much from the wand hose. Thanks for any advice!!

it may have froze or someone before you may have run the pump with out water that can hurt the pump also check for a clogged tip also I just had to clean mine. The smallest piece of dirt can clog them lots of luck

The pump may be gone. The pressure washer takes the low pressure water from the input hose and boosts the pressure using the motor driven pump on the unit. If there is blackish water coming out of the wand the unit may have been frozen and the pump is hurt internally. There should be an oil reservoir to provide lubrication to the pump. Remove the oil plug and see if there is water in the oil. If there is you will have to have the pump repaired or replaced.
